When “Pride” Needs a Disguise

Why do members of Patriot Front hide their faces?

Because they are cowards.

I would call them pussies, but that would unfairly suggest they have ever been near one without a restraining order, a podcast microphone, or a twelve-part manosphere theory about why women, accountability, and direct sunlight are all part of the same conspiracy.

You cannot claim to belong to a white supremacist movement, claim your race is superior, claim your intellect is superior, and then be too afraid to show your face in public.

If you truly believe you are standing for something noble, powerful, or righteous, why hide behind masks? Why conceal your identity? Why march like some discount militia cosplay troupe and then scurry back into anonymity?

If you are supposedly the superior race with the superior intellect, why are you marching around dressed like Lamont Cranston in a Cub Scout uniform mommy just ironed?

Oh wait, are the masks an admission that even you know the pointy hoods are a branding blunder, a fashion faux pas, and just a tad bit too honest?

And for those of you clutching your pearls over the word “fascist,” I would tell you to look it up, but you probably think dictionaries have a liberal bias.

What Patriot Front is doing is not courage. It is the same fake courage people discovered online: say anything, attack anyone, spread whatever poison you want, as long as nobody knows who you really are.

It is cowardice dressed up as conviction, and it only works when consequences are kept at a safe distance; march that shit down 8th and H under cover of night without a National Guard escort and let see what happens.  Ask Big Balls.

That is what they want.

Intimidation without accountability.

Performance without consequences.

They call it pride, but they hide their faces.

That is not strength.

That is shame.

And while your bullshitting, what the fuck is with the  Confederate Flag?

That is the flag of a breakaway country that went to war against the United States of America and lost.

Your insistence on waving it is not patriotism, It is not tradition, It is not heritage.

It is kind of like insisting on putting a framed photo of your side chick on your wife’s nightstand and then looking like "what?" when your wife objects.

And while we are talking about Patriot Front, let’s talk about the people suddenly insisting the July 4th march in D.C. was not really Patriot Front.

They claim it was Antifa.

Or federal agents.

Or some mysterious false-flag cosplay brigade.

Wait. What?

Why are you defending a white supremacist extremist group by arguing that someone else was pretending to be them?

That is not the defense you think it is.

If your argument is, “Those masked white nationalists carrying the flags and chanting the slogans were not the real masked white nationalists who usually carry the flags and chant the slogans,” then what are you actually admitting?

You are admitting the group is embarrassing.

You are admitting the optics are toxic.

You are admitting nobody decent wants to be publicly associated with them.

They are not denying it because Patriot Front is hard to identify.

They are denying it because Patriot Front is hard to defend.

Suddenly, when Patriot Front marches through D.C. in matching uniforms, masks, flags, and choreography, everybody needs a full forensic investigation and a DNA sample from the khaki pants.

Come on.

There is no Antifa.

Antifa is a right-wing label for a supposed left-wing organization that does not exist.

Fox News and conservative media use the word like it names a real group with leaders, members, headquarters, funding, officers, and marching orders.

It does not.

It is a scare label.

A fake enemy container.

A smoke bomb.

It gives people a word to throw into the room when evidence would require them to actually look at the room.

So when conservative media says, “Maybe it was Antifa,” they are not reporting.

They are confessing.

They are admitting Patriot Front is embarrassing.

They are admitting even they know decent people should be ashamed to stand next to it.

They are admitting the real thing is too ugly to defend, so they point at an imaginary enemy instead.

And for real, if they had either evidence, or a plausible facsimile they'd show it.

So, stop pretending “Antifa” explains anything.

It does not.

It is a smoke bomb for people who are embarrassed by the white supremacists they were fine with until the cameras showed up.

The mask, the denial, and the imaginary scapegoat all serve the same purpose: to separate the spectacle from responsibility.
